SEATTLE (Nov. 2) Seattle Pacific
University's six selections led all Great Northwest Athletic
Conference members as the Academic All-Star team was announced
Thursday.
The Falcons' Shelby Gihring made the team for
the third year in a row. Gihring (Sr., Kent, Wa./Kentlake) is a
biology major with a 3.83 grade point average.
Rachel Biornstad (Jr., Kent, Wa./Kentlake),
Whitney Dibble (Sr., Reno, Nv./Galena) and Alyssa Given (Jr.,
Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) each made the team for a second time.
To be eligible for the academic team,
student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20
and be in at least their second year of competition at their
university.
