SEATTLE (Oct. 25) ­ Seattle Pacific University has placed a league-high 19 soccer players -­1 0 men and nine women -- on the 2006 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Academic all-star teams.

The Falcons feature three three-time selections: Michael Morris (Sr., Bothell, Wa./Blanchet), Andy Willis (Sr., Gig Harbor, Wa.) and Mollie Taylor (Jr., Westlake Village, Ca.). There were four repeat recipients for the men and three for the women.

Claire Grubbs (So., Sterling, Va.) owns the top grade point average for the SPU women with a 3.97 while Ben Pliskin (So., Corvallis, Or.) has a 3.82 GPA.

A total of 40 women and 19 men were honored altogether.

To be eligible for the academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
