Falcons Host Rival WWU Friday Night After Match in Texas
October 17, 2006

SEATTLE (Oct. 17) Seattle Pacific University slid to No. 8 in the NSCAA/adidas rankings for NCAA Division II men's soccer this week.

However, the Falcons (11-4-0), who have dropped two of their last three games, remained the top team in the Far West Region, both according to the NSCAA and the NCAA, which released its first poll.

SPU is No. 1, followed by Cal State Dominguez Hills, Sonoma State and Cal State L.A. The top four teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs, with the No. 1 seed serving as host for the regional tournament.

Nationally, unblemished Dowling of New York replaced Franklin Pierce at No. 1 in the coaches poll.

Seattle Pacific hosts Western Washington in its final home game Friday night.
