PHOENIX (Oct. 9) Four of the six Seattle
Pacific University men's soccer players involved in Saturday's
two-car collision have been medically cleared for Tuesday's game
at Grand Canyon.
Coach Cliff McCrath said that Michael Morris
(Sr., Bothell, Wa./Blanchet) is still suffering from the effects
of the three-car crash which sent Morris and five teammates to the
hospital before being discharged later that night. Morris will not
play.
Top scorer James Coggan (Jr., San Jose,
Ca./Valley Christian) is questionable but may be in uniform.
McCrath said Coggan is experiencing pain and
stiffness in his neck and shoulders. Morris is the Falcons' No. 2
scorer.
Nate Elmenhurst (Jr., Bothell,
Wa./Woodinville), Jono Henness (So., Casa Grande, Az.), Drew Macha
(Jr., Eugene, Or./Marist) and Andy Willis (Sr., Gig Harbor, Wa.)
are available for the game. All participated in Monday's practice
session.
Seattle Pacific is ranked No. 6 in NCAA
Division II and had won seven in a row before Saturday's game with
Hawaii Pacific was cancelled as a result of the accident.
