No. 18 Falcons Win Ninth Straight in Volleyball

LACEY, Wash. (Sept. 28) ­ Nikki Finley came off the bench for a career-high 11 kills and Angie Wodrich added 10 plus four service aces as 18th-ranked Seattle Pacific University won its ninth straight volleyball match Thursday night in three games over Saint Martin's.

Alyssa Given (Jr., Salinas, Ca.) topped the Falcons (7-0, 15-2) with 12 kills as they maintained their lead in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference going into Saturday's meeting with No. 15 Central Washington.

SPU won 30-13, 30-16 and 30-19, hitting a GNAC season-high .340 and serving a total of 12 aces.

Finley (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Co.) did not enter the match until early in Game 2 but quickly cracked three winners.

Wodrich (Jr., Richland, Wa.) had five blocks assists and Rachel Biornstad (Jr., Kent, Wa./Kentlake) had seven. Setter Jenna Von Moos (Sr., Stanwood, Wa.) had 35 assists.

Given hit a match-high .571 and also had 14 digs.

The Saints (1-5, 1-9) were led by the eight kills of Shealun Campisi.
