scored two of Seattle Pacifics four goals as the No.
6-ranked Falcons overwhelmed Northwest Nazarene University 4-0, in
a Great Northwest Athletic Conference womens soccer game
Thursday evening at Interbay Stadium.
With the victory, the Falcons (8-1-0/2-0-0)
extended their GNAC unbeaten streak to 46 games. SPU has not lost
at Interbay in 17 straight contests.
Stiegemeier (Fr., Rathdrum, Id./Lakeland) gave
the Falcons a 3-0 advantage heading into the locker room at
intermission when she nodded a Claire Grubbs (So., Sterling,
Va./Potomac Falls) cross past NNU keeper Amanda Merrell (34:02).
Steigemeier scored at 62:31 for the final
margin. Sarah Martinez (Jr., Bothell, Wa./Cedar Park Christian)
and Meredith Teague (So., Redmond, Wa./Bellevue Christian) were
credited with assists on the play.
The Falcons Janae Godoy (Fr., Yakima,
Wa./West Valley) got match scoring underway in the seventh minute
when she fielded Alex Kirks (Fr., Edmonds,
Wa./Edmonds-Woodway) cross from the left side of the field and
slotted it to the right post from 10 yards (6:31).
Grubbs chipped in a goal at 29:46.
Overall, the Falcons out-shot the Crusaders 271.
SPU took seven corner kicks to Northwest Nazarenes one.
Seattle Pacifics Katie Ruggles (Sr., Eugene, Or./South
Eugene) and Jesslyn Rahm (Eugene, Or./South Eugene) split time in
goal and registered a single save between them.
SPU takes to the field Saturday night in a
non-conference match-up with Grand Canyon. The Falcons resume
conference play Sept. 28th at home against Central Washington.
