Men's Basketball to Face Fellow West Contenders Early; '06-'07 Schedule Released
September 1, 2006

Complete 2006-07 Schedule

SEATTLE (Sept. 1) As it prepares to defend its West Regional men's basketball championship, Seattle Pacific University will get a good look at much of the competition to start the 2006-07 season.

The Falcons, who advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II tournament last spring, will play their first six non-conference games against other contenders from throughout the West.

Seattle Pacific opens the regular at home Nov. 17-18, hosting Cal State L.A. and Cal Poly Pomona in the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, SPU meets both UC San Diego and Cal State Dominguez Hills in Las Vegas. The Falcons hosts BYU Hawaii and visits Cal State San Bernardino before another trip to Vegas before Christmas.

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference campaign begins Jan. 4 at Alaska Anchorage. Three startersDustin Bremerman, Robbie Will and Drew Matzenare back this season.

Coach Jeff Hironaka expects to have his preseason dates finalized by late September.
