SEATTLE (Aug. 30) ­ Casey Reed, a 6-foot-5 sophomore who played basketball for Navy last season, has transferred to Seattle Pacific University.

Reed, an Oregon native who graduated from Canby High School in 2005, will be immediately eligible to play for the Falcons this season. As a freshman at Annapolis, Reed played 27 games, starting three. He averaged 3.1 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game.

As a prep senior, Reed led Canby to the Pac-9 championships and a state tournament appearance. He also lettered in track and field as a triple-jumper.

Seattle Pacific won the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and West Region championships last season, and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II tournament.
