SEATTLE (Aug. 28) ­ Alyssa Given of Seattle Pacific University was named volleyball Co-Player of the Week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after leading the Falcons to three victories in the first week of the season.

Given (Jr., Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) averaged 5.38 kills per game as SPU took second place in the Hawaiian Style Classic. She hit for 17 in a three-game sweep of 13th-ranked Hawaii Pacific. Given was also credited with 30 digs and five blocks.

The 18th-ranked Falcons host Hawaii Pacific Tuesday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
