SEATTLE (July 7) Matt Cooper, a former
Seattle Pacific University track and cross country runner, earned
the Addison Brown Award upon graduating magna cum laude
from Harvard Law School last month.
Cooper, a Tacoma native, 1998 SPU graduate and
recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, received the
Addison Brown Award of $7000 for writing the top paper for a
third-year law student on the subject of private international
law. He is now preparing for the Texas bar exam.
Cooper and his wife, former SPU sprinter Lisa
Malmin, now reside in Houston. Malmin, another NCAA Postgraduate
Scholar, is an emergency room doctor in Houston.
