SEATTLE (June 29) Seattle Pacific
University's Chris Randolph has been selected to represent the
United States in dual decathlon meet with Germany Aug. 5-6 in
Manhattan, Kansas.
This will be the first senior national team
appointment for Randolph (Sr., Lone Tree, Co./Denver Christian),
and he will be the first Falcon to represent the U.S. since Jack
Hoyt in 1990.
Randolph had been named to the Americans'
under-23 team for the NACAC Championships July 7-9 in the
Dominican Republic. He will miss that meet after sustaining a
bruised left arch at the USA Championships last week.
The NCAA Division II champion in the decathlon
the past two years, Randolph scored an SPU record 7872 points a
month ago, the third-highest score by an American this year.
