2006 Schedule
SEATTLE (June 23) Two past postseason opponents
will come to Interbay Stadium for the season-opening homestand of
the Seattle Pacific University women's soccer season.
The Falcons, unbeaten during the past two
regular seasons and coming off a trip to the NCAA Division II
championship game in just their fifth year, begin play Aug. 24
against Chico State. The two foes have met in the first round of
the playoffs each of the last two seasons.
A three-game stand concludes Aug. 29 against
Cal State Dominguez Hills, prior to a string of five consecutive
road games. The bid for a fifth straight Great Northwest Athletic
Conference crown begins Sept. 13 at Western Oregon.
Another four-game homestand features the annual
derby game with Seattle University Sept. 30. A compacted regular
season finishes Oct. 28 at the Redhawks' home field.
Seniors will be honored prior to the ninth and
final home date, an Oct. 21 afternoon match with Western Oregon.
Five starters are back from the team which went
20-1-4 in Chuck Sekyra's third year as coach. All-America forward
Sarah Martinez and all-region selections Kara Hamby and Carolyn
Nason headline the cast.
