SEATTLE (June 22) -- Seattle Pacific University
track and field athlete Linda Blake has been voted to the ESPN
The Magazine Academic All-America team.
Blake (Sr., Richland, Wa.) was selected to the
third team, and she becomes the Falcons' first Academic
All-American in any sport this season.
A chemistry major, Blake has a cumulative grade
point average of 3.94. She finished eighth in the heptathlon at
the NCAA Division II Championships last month, and had won the
Great Northwest Athletic Conference 60-meter hurdles indoor title.
Blake remains a finalist for an NCAA
Postgraduate Scholarship. She is the women's track program's ninth
Academic All-American and first since 2003.
