Women Track's Blake Voted Academic All-America
June 22, 2006

SEATTLE (June 22) -- Seattle Pacific University track and field athlete Linda Blake has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team.

Blake (Sr., Richland, Wa.) was selected to the third team, and she becomes the Falcons' first Academic All-American in any sport this season.

A chemistry major, Blake has a cumulative grade point average of 3.94. She finished eighth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division II Championships last month, and had won the Great Northwest Athletic Conference 60-meter hurdles indoor title.

Blake remains a finalist for an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She is the women's track program's ninth Academic All-American and first since 2003.
