SPU Women Lead Way With 19 Named to Academic All-GNAC Track and Field Team

SEATTLE (May 12) ­ Seattle Pacific University led all Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's track and field teams with 19 individuals named to the academic all-GNAC team.

A total of 110 student-athletes (72 women, 38 men) were honored. SPU was second to Western Washington with a total of six men recognized.

The Falcons featured five three-time selections: Linda Blake (Sr., Richland, Wa.), Jean Kolb (Sr., Eugene, Or./South Eugene), Amy Harris (Sr., Corvallis, Or./Crescent Valley), Becky Knox (Sr., Denver, Co./Denver Christian) and Allie Hedges (Sr., Richland, Wa.).

To be eligible for the academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university. They must also qualify to compete in either the GNAC Indoor or GNAC Outdoor track-and-field championship meet.
