April 28, 2006

Complete Results

BELLINGHAM, WASH. (Apr. 28) Chris Randolph threw the discus within one foot of the Seattle Pacific University record in winning at the Western Washington Twilight track and field meet Friday night.

Randolph (Sr., Lone Tree, Co.) sent the disk 161 feet, 9 inches to handily claim the event and surpass the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard. He already owns the nation¹s top qualifying mark in the decathlon. The SPU discus record is 162-7, set by Mike Olson in 1992.

For the Falcon women, Teona Perkins (Jr., Kennewick, Wa.) raised her qualifying mark in the high jump, taking first at 5-7¾. She also took second in the 400m meters in 59.15 seconds.

Amy Harris (Sr., Corvallis, Or.) bumped her season-best mark in the pole vault to 11-11¾ with her second victory in three meets.

The SPU women won every race between 800-5000 meters, including Corina James (Fr., Madera, Ca.) with a 28-second personal record of 12:28.94 in the steeplechase.

Seattle Pacific next competes at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships, May 6 in Monmouth, Or.
