SEATTLE (Mar. 27) Seattle Pacific
University point guard Tony Binetti has been named first team
men's basketball All-America by the Division II Bulletin.
This is the second All-America recognition for
Binetti (Sr., 6-1, Enumclaw, Wa.), who was voted to the NABC team
last week.
It is the latest of several awards for the
Falcons court leader. He was the Great Northwest Athletic
Conference player of the year and consensus all-West Region.
Binetti was named to the NCAA Elite Eight
all-tournament team after totaling 36 points, nine assists and
five steals as SPU (26-6) advanced to the semifinal round in
Springfield, Mass.
Binetti finished as Seattle Pacific's leader in
scoring (18.2), assists (5.1), steals (1.8) and three-point
percentage (.474).
