Oregon State Wins UW Three-Way Meet As Falcon Gymnasts Tumble Third
March 3, 2006

Seattle, Wa. (Mar. 3) – Tasha Smith accumulated a 39.150 to lead Oregon State to wins over both Washington and Seattle Pacific in a women’s gymnastics meet at Bank of America Arena Friday night.

Behind Smith, who tied for first on vault and floor, Oregon State scored 194.600 points. The Huskies were second with 193.300, followed by the Falcons (3-9) with 189.750.

The Beavers’ Megan Devencenzi tied with Smith on vault (9.875), and UW’s Kelly McDonald tied with Smith on floor (9.800). McDonald also topped bars (9.900), while Claire Pierce of OSU finished first on beam (9.825)

Jami Lanz of Oregon State finished second in the all-around (39.075) after tying for second with Smith on beam (9.800) and taking third on vault (9.850).

Seattle Pacific’s best event of the night was vault, launching a season-high 48.475. Sarah Sullivan (Jr., Salem, Or.) scored a career-high 9.850 to place fourth in the event, while Kristin Bryant (Jr., Anchorage, Ak.) tied for fifth (9.725). Jaynie Reynolds (Sr., White Rock, BC) finished fifth in the meet with 38.300 points.

Seattle Pacific visits Alaska Anchorage for back-to-back meets Mar. 10 and 11.
