Perkins' High Marks Earn Conference Women's Track Athlete Weekly Award
February 27, 2006

SEATTLE (Feb. 27) Seattle Pacific University dual event star Teona Perkins was selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference female track and field athlete of the week following two wins.

Perkins (Jr., Kennewick, Wa.) high-jumped 5 feet, 8 inches to match the top qualifying mark in NCAA Division II and also ran the 800 meters in 2:13.11 at the Northwest Last Chance indoor meet. Both marks were GNAC season-best performances.

Perkins' mark in the high jump places her No. 3 on the SPU all-time list. Her 800 time was an improvement of 1.54 over her previous best and is the second-best time in GNAC history.

Seattle Pacific opens the outdoor season Saturday with a triangular meet at Puget Sound. The NCAA indoor championships are Mar. 10-11 in Boston.
