SEATTLE (Feb. 27) ­ Mandy Wood of Seattle Pacific University has been named the women's basketball player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after leading her team to its 13th and 14th straight wins on the road.

Wood (Sr., 5-6, Port Angeles, Wa.) connected on 11 of 19 three-point shots and scored 43 points to lead the Falcons to a pair of 30-point wins in Alaska. She made five of 10 treys and scored 21 points in a 67-34 win over Alaska Anchorage, then followed that up with a six-of-nine three-point effort and 22 points in a 86-56 win at Alaska Fairbanks.

SPU (21-4) hosts No. 8 Western Washington Thursday night at 7.
