ANCHORAGE, Ak. (Feb. 22) – Mandy Wood scored 21 points, and the Falcons allowed their second-lowest season point total as Seattle Pacific cruised to its 13th straight win with a 67-34 victory over Alaska Anchorage in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

Wood (Sr., 5-6, Port Angeles, Wa.), who scored 14 points in the second half, hit a trio of three pointers and poured in 11 points during a 19-2 SPU run that gave the Falcons (14-1 GNAC, 20-4) a 51-22 lead with 11:44 left in the game. She shot 5-for-10 from behind the arc and also dished out a game-high six assists.

Jenny Poe (Sr., 5-8, Enumclaw, Wa.) added 13 points for the Falcons as SPU’s two leading scorers matched Alaska Anchorage’s game scoring total. The Falcons clinched their seventh straight 20-win season and remained within a game of Western Washington for first place in the GNAC.

Rebecca Kielpinski was one of just four UAA players to score in the game. She paced the Seawolves with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Mari Riser added 10 points and six boards, as the two combined for 29 of the team’s 34 points.

The Falcons held Anchorage (4-11 GNAC, 11-13) to just 18 points in the first half and 16 in the second. The Seawolves shot a dismal 25 percent from the field and went 1-for-11 (nine percent) from three-point range.

The Falcons shot 39 percent overall and made 9-of-23 (39 percent) three-point attempts. SPU scored 35 points off 28 Anchorage turnovers.

The Falcons face Alaska Fairbanks in a GNAC game Saturday at 8:00 p.m. before returning home next week for their final two regular season games.
