SEATTLE (Feb. 22) With four regular
season games remaining and a No. 5 West Regiona ranking, Seattle
Pacific University appears to be on the verge of a 10th straight
trip to the NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament.
The Falcons (19-4) take a 12-game win streak
north to Alaska Anchorage Thursday night.
Cal State Bakersfield, Western Washington,
Chico State and UC San Diego remained unchanged a positions 1-4 in
the West. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference and CCAA each
have five teams among the top 10.
The top eight teams in the final poll in March,
assuming the GNAC and CCAA regular-season champions are among the
top eight, will advance to the playoffs.
