SEATTLE (Feb. 15) -- Seattle Pacific University moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week's West Region rankings for NCAA Division II women's basketball.

By extending their win streak to 10 games, the Falcons (17-4) overtook Cal State L.A. Cal State Bakersfield maintained the No. 1 position despite a loss. Western Washington remains No. 2. SPU hosts Western Oregon Thursday at 5:30.

The top eight teams in the final poll in March, assuming the GNAC and CCAA regular-season champions are among the top eight, will advance to the playoffs.
