SEATTLE (Feb. 15) -- Seattle Pacific University
moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week's West Region rankings for
NCAA Division II women's basketball.
By extending their win streak to 10 games, the
Falcons (17-4) overtook Cal State L.A. Cal State Bakersfield
maintained the No. 1 position despite a loss. Western Washington
remains No. 2. SPU hosts Western Oregon Thursday at 5:30.
The top eight teams in the final poll in March,
assuming the GNAC and CCAA regular-season champions are among the
top eight, will advance to the playoffs.
West Region - 1. Cal State Bakersfield
19-2; 2. Western Washington 21-1; 3. Chico State 18-3; 4. UC San
Diego 16-4; 5. Seattle Pacific 17-4; 6. Cal State L.A. 15-6; 7.
CSU Dominguez Hills 13-7; 8. Northwest Nazarene 14-7; 9. Humboldt
State 13-9; 10. Central Washington 12-8.
