SEATTLE (Feb. 14) The marquee game in
NCAA Division II men's basketball this week is coming to Brougham
Pavilion Thursday night, when two top-10 teams meet.
Seattle Pacific University (19-3), unbeaten at
home (10-0) and ranked No. 8, hosts No. 2 Western Washington
(19-2) in a contest which could determine the winner of the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming
West Regional tournament.
Western moved up two spots in the NABC coaches
poll while SPU dropped three places after its five-game win streak
was snapped at Alaska Anchorage. It's the 11th straight week in
the top 10 for Seattle Pacific.
Fort Hays State of Kansas displaced Virginia
Union at No. 1 and earned all eight first-place votes.
