SPU No. 8 Nationally; Falcons Face Western in Top 10 Men's Hoops Showdown
February 14, 2006

SEATTLE (Feb. 14) The marquee game in NCAA Division II men's basketball this week is coming to Brougham Pavilion Thursday night, when two top-10 teams meet.

Seattle Pacific University (19-3), unbeaten at home (10-0) and ranked No. 8, hosts No. 2 Western Washington (19-2) in a contest which could determine the winner of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming West Regional tournament.

Western moved up two spots in the NABC coaches poll while SPU dropped three places after its five-game win streak was snapped at Alaska Anchorage. It's the 11th straight week in the top 10 for Seattle Pacific.

Fort Hays State of Kansas displaced Virginia Union at No. 1 and earned all eight first-place votes.
