Randolph, Harris Earn GNAC Track Athletes of Week
January 30, 2006

SEATTLE (Jan. 30) -- Chris Randolph and Amy Harris, both of Seattle Pacific University, were named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference track and field athletes of the week following their impressive performances at the Washington Indoor Invitational and Indoor Open meets, respectively.

Randolph (Sr., Lone Tree, Co./Denver Christian) broke the school and facility records in winning the men’s heptathlon with a score of 5,508 points. He also broke his own SPU school records in the long jump (22-11), 60 hurdles (8.39) and pole vault (14-11) in the process. His heptathlon mark is the sixth-highest mark by an American this season and qualifies him for the U.S. Championships. His long jump mark and heptathlon score were also GNAC records.

Harris (Sr., Corvallis, Or./Crescent Valley) finished second in the pole vault with an NCAA Division II provisional national qualifying mark of 11-5 3/4.

The next track meet is Feb. 11-12 at Washington.
