The Huskies finished in second place on the night, tumbling a 191.525 team composite. Close behind was Seattle Pacific at 190.225. The Sun Devils managed to win all four floor events, vaulting 49.050, swinging the bars to 47.950, earning 49.100 on beam and finishing up floor exercise with 49.075.

Arizona State’s Nicole Harris and Ashley Kelly negotiated a share of the top score on the night on beam (9.875), while Cassandra Jusino nailed her floor routine for a 9.900.

The Huskies managed wins on vault and uneven bars, as Ashley Houghting and Kelly McDonald notched 9.900 and 9.800, respectively. Seattle Pacific’s performance was highlighted by Sarah Sullivan’s (Jr., Salem, Or./Sprague) fifth place finish on floor (9.825) and Jaynie Reynolds (Sr., White Rock, B.C./Marriot) and Debra Huss’ (Jr., Orangevale, Ca./Bella Vista) tie for fifth on bars (9.600).

The Falcons 190.225 team total comes one week after swinging into season with an opening night record 191.850 tally at home versus Alaska Anchorage. Seattle Pacific currently leads the USA Gymnastics Collegiate division in the national rankings.

SPU is on the road for its next two meets. The Falcons take on Mountain Pacific Sports Federation member San Jose State on Feb. 3 in California.
