Complete Box Score

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Jan. 19) Dustin Bremerman poured in 31 points and Tony Binetti scored a career-high 27 to pace 3rd-ranked Seattle Pacific University to its ninth win in a row, 99-91 over Central Washington at Nicholson Pavilion Thursday night.

By winning, the Falcons (6-0, 14-1) remain unbeaten versus NCAA Division II opposition and tied atop the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings with 2nd-ranked Western Washington. The two teams meet Saturday night in Bellingham.

Bremerman (Sr., 6-4, Yakima, Wa/Eisenhower) and Chad Williams (Sr., 6-8, Burlington, Wa.) hit back-to-back three-pointers to help SPU pull away from an 82-all tie and lead 88-82 with six minutes to go.

After the Wildcats (4-2, 9-6) pulled within three, again Bremerman and Williams connected on jumpers, pushing the Falcons advantage back to seven, 93-86. Central got no closer than four points in the remaining 2:49.

Binetti (Sr., 6-1, Enumclaw, Wa.) scored 18 of his points in the second half, when Seattle Pacific led by as much as 13. Bremerman scored all 12 points of a 12-2 streak which began late in the first period and eventually put SPU in front 54-41 two minutes into the second half.

Seattle Pacific shot 53 percent or better for the sixth consecutive game, connecting on 58 percent in the second period and 11 of 20 three-pointers overall. The Falcons also converted 26 of 29 free throws, with Bremerman and Binetti each sinking 10 of 10. The pair also combined to make 6-9 treys.

Mike Bushmaker (Sr., 6-7, Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower) came off the bench for 13 points and Williams finished with 10. Bremerman added eight rebounds. Lance Den Boer matched Bremerman with 31 for Central Washington, but only eight of those came after intermission. The ŒCats, after a cold start, shot 46 percent.

It was Seattle Pacific's fifth win in the last six trips to Ellensburg. SPU entered the game rated No. 2 among teams in the West Region and Central was fourth.
