SEATTLE (Jan. 16) ­ After pacing his team in scoring during a pair of home wins, Seattle Pacific University point guard Tony Binetti was selected as the men's basketball co-player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Binetti (Sr., 6-1, Enumclaw, Wa.) totaled 42 points, 15 assists and six steals in victories over Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks. He hit 14 of 21 field goals, including 5-7 three-pointers, and also grabbed 13 rebounds. Binetti connected on a key 3-pointer with 24 seconds left versus UAA and scored 7 of the points in a 16-3 run which blew open the UAF game early in the second half.

SPU (13-1), which has won eight straight, visits Central Washington Thursday night.
