SEATTLE (Jan. 14) Behind the hot shooting of Dustin Bremerman and Tony Binetti, 4th-ranked Seattle Pacific University cruised to its eighth win in a row, 93-66 over Alaska Fairbanks in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Brougham Pavilion Saturday night.

Converting 10 of 16 three-pointers, the Falcons (5-0, 13-1) shot 55 percent overall (34-62) and were never threatened after a 16-3 blitz early in the second half put them up by 23.

Mike Bushmaker (Sr., 6-7, Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower) came off the bench for 15 and Chad Williams (Sr., 6-8, Burlington, Wa.) had 14 points. Drew Matzen (Jr., 6-4, Bothell, Wa./Lynnwood) added all 11 of his in the first half.

Alaska Fairbanks, which stayed with SPU for the first 15 minutes, was led by Andrew Smith's 19 points. The Nanooks (3-3, 10-5) cooled to just 33 percent shooting after intermission and made 39 percent (25-65) for the game.

Consecutive three-pointers by Bremerman, Williams and Matzen (twice) pushed Seattle Pacific to a 44-28 advantage late in the first half. Binetti scored seven of the points in the second-half burst which served as the knockout blow to UAF.
