SEATTLE (Jan. 10) Seattle Pacific
University has matched its best ever national ranking in men's
basketball, moving up two spots to No. 4 in this week's NABC
Coaches Poll for NCAA Division II.
The Falcons (11-1), who received one
first-place vote, are undefeated against Div. II opposition. They
equaled the ranking of the 1993-94 team which resided at No. 4 for
two weeks. Both teams started their season by winning 11 of 12.
Earlier this season, SPU had been as high as No. 5.
Montevallo (Al.) reclaimed the No. 1 position,
with Seattle Pacific's Great Northwest Athletic Conference rival.
Western Washington, climbing to No. 2.
SPU seeks its seventh straight win when it
hosts Alaska Anchorage in a GNAC game Thursday night at 7.
