December 21, 2005

SEATTLE (Dec. 21) Justin Abel, a former soccer standout at Snohomish High School, has transferred from St. John's to Seattle Pacific University.

A midfielder, Abel played the past two seasons for the Red Storm, and has two years of remaining eligibility. He started four games as a sophomore, scoring one goal.

Abel led Snohomish High School to the state 4A semifinals as a senior and his club, Snohomish United, won three straight state titles. He was a four-time member of the Washington ODP team and made the regional team three times.

Seattle Pacific was 15-3-3 this season, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament and finishing No. 7 in the final coaches poll. The Falcons return eight starters next season.
