Seattle Pacific Men Earn Highest National Ranking in 12 Years
December 6, 2005

SEATTLE (Dec. 6) – Moving up six more spots, Seattle Pacific University has its highest national men’s basketball ranking in nearly 12 years at No. 5 in this week’s NABC Coaches Poll for NCAA Division II.

The Falcons (5-0), who were 11th last week, are off to their best start in seven seasons after beating Hawaii Pacific, 69-54. Not since it was No. 4 in January of 1994 has SPU been rated so high.

Montevallo of Alabama held on to the No. 1 position but three other teams fell out of the top 10. Western Washington rose to No. 4.

Seattle Pacific is idle until visiting Nevada, ranked No. 17 in the AP Div. I rankings, Dec. 13.
