November 29, 2005

SEATTLE (Nov. 29) Seattle Pacific University is ranked No. 11 in the first NCAA Division II men's basketball coaches poll of the regular season.

The Falcons (4-0), off to their best start since 1998-99, return to the NABC top 25 for the first time since Feb. 22. They had been as high as No. 8 last season but were excluded from the preseason poll.

Alabama's Montevallo edged Bentley (Ma.) by one point to take over at No. 1. Tarleton State (Tx.) had been the preseason No. 1. Western Washington slipped four places to No. 8.

SPU hosts Hawaii Pacific Saturday night at 7 in the second game of the Oak Harbor Freight Lines Challenge in Brougham Pavilion.
