SEATTLE (Nov. 20) Seattle Pacific
University will be pitted against Tennessee's Carson-Newman in the
semifinal round of the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament.
The Falcons (19-0-4), who advanced from the
quarterfinals by a tiebreaker win over defending national champion
Metro State, will resume play Dec. 1 in Wichita Falls, Tx.
Franklin Pierce (NH) and Nebraska-Omaha will meet in the other
semi. The championship game is Dec. 3.
Carson-Newman (17-4-0) defeated West Florida
2-0 and UNO beat Grand Valley State (Mi.) 2-0 in Sunday's
quarterfinals.
Seattle Pacific is the last remaining unbeaten
team and was ranked No. 2 in the final NSCAA coaches poll.
Franklin-Pierce (19-1-2) was No. 4, Nebraska-Omaha (18-2-0) No. 7
and Carson-Newman No. 23.
