SEATTLE (Nov. 16) Jessica Pixler, a standout distance runner for Eastlake High School, has signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and field for Seattle Pacific University.

Pixler was the runner-up in the state 4A cross country championships earlier this month. As a junior, she finished third in the state 1600-meter race and sixth in the 3200. Pixler, a resident of Sammamish, is also a starting defender for the state ODP soccer team and plays for the FC Marauders of Maple Valley.

Seattle Pacific was eighth in the NCAA Division II championships last spring. The Falcons begin their first season under new coach Karl Lerum in January.
