SEATTLE (Nov. 14) The top two teams in
the NCAA Division II women's soccer rankings will meet prematurely
when No. 1 Metro State (Co.) visits No. 2 Seattle Pacific
University for a quarterfinal round game Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Interbay Stadium.
Both the Falcons (19-0-3) and Roadrunners
(23-0-0) are undefeated this season. SPU won the Far West Region
by beating UC San Diego 2-0 last Saturday. Metro took the Midwest
with a 1-0 victory over Denver crosstown rival Regis Sunday.
Metro State (23-0-0) is the defending national
champion and inherited the No. 1 mantle from Seattle Pacific after
the Falcons were eliminated in the second round of the '04 NCAA
tournament.
The quarterfinal winners advance to the
semifinals, to be held Dec. 1 in Wichita Falls, Tex.
Tickets for Saturday's game go on sale Tuesday
in the Brougham Pavilion ticket office. Prices are $7 for general
admission, with youth and student $3.
