Snohomish, Bellevue Christian Seniors Sign for SPU Women
November 14, 2005

SEATTLE (Nov. 14) Daesha Henderson of Snohomish High School and Bellevue Christian center Melissa Reich have signed national letters of intent to play basketball at Seattle Pacific University next season.

Henderson, a 5-foot-9 point guard, averaged 11.6 points as a junior, when the Panthers advanced to the Washington 4A championship game and went 25-2. She was the team MVP and second team all-Wesco North when Snohomish finished sixth in the 2004 state tournament.

Reich, a 6-1 senior, averaged 15.1 points and 14 rebounds last season in leading the Vikings to a 20-5 record and a state 1A tournament berth. She is the daughter of Mark Reich, a Seattle Pacific center from 1977-79.

Earlier the Falcons signed Megan Hoisington of Central Kitsap.

Seattle Pacific begins its first season under new coach Julie van Beek Tuesday night by hosting Northwest University at Brougham Pavilion. SPU was the NCAA national runner-up in 2005 and finished 30-3.
