SEATTLE (Nov. 8) Seattle Pacific
University will take a No. 5 national ranking into this weekend¹s
opening game of the NCAA Division II men¹s soccer tournament.
The Falcons held firm at their position in the
NSCAA/adidas national coaches poll after extending their win
streak to five games to conclude the regular season at 14-2-3.
They are seeded No. 2 in the Far West Regional and meet
20th-ranked Sonoma State (12-8-2) in the first round Saturday at 1
p.m. in Carson, Ca.
Cal State Dominguez Hills (16-4-2), ranked No.
10 in the nation, was given the region¹s top seed despite
losing twice to Sonoma. The Toros received a first-round bye and
will host the regional championships game Monday at 1 p.m.
Fort Lewis (Co.) remained the No. 1 team in the
national coaches poll and is the top seed in the Midwest. The Far
West and Midwest winners will meet Nov. 19.
