SEATTLE (Oct. 18) Seattle Pacific
University vaulted back to the top of the Far West Region and
matched its season-best men's soccer national ranking, rising to
No. 5 among NCAA Division II teams in the NSCAA/adidas national
coaches poll.
The Falcons (10-2-3), who play their next four
games on the road, visit Humboldt State for a Great Northwest
Athletic Conference game Saturday. Cal State Dominguez Hills,
which beat SPU last month, dropped to No. 2 in the region and 10th
nationally following a 6-0 loss at Sonoma State. Seattle Pacific
has not been No. 1 in the Far West since the 2-1 loss to the Toros
Sept. 10.
Lynn (Fl.) is No. 1 for the fifth week in a
row, followed by Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Fort Lewis (Co.),
Dowling (NY) and SPU.
