SEATTLE (Oct. 15) ­ Bjorn Bostrom and Mary Moriarty won their respective divisions of Seattle Pacific University's Varsity-Alumni cross country race around Green Lake Saturday morning.

Bostrom (Jr., LaConner, Wa./Bellingham) completed the 2.5 miles in 12 minutes, 38 seconds, ahead of teammate Doug Gibson (Jr., Yakima, Wa./Riverside Christian), who was timed in 12:52.

Moriarty (Fr., Seattle, Wa./Ballard) was first for the women in 14:40.

Several key varsity performers bypassed the meet, including top scorers Meredith Crane, Karin Rohde and Josie Lavin for the women and Carlo Lozano, Brian Cronrath and Eddie Strickler for the men.

Seattle Pacific competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championships next Saturday at Bellingham's Lake Padden Park.
