New Era of Falcon Women's Basketball to Begin at Home
September 23, 2005

2005-06 Schedule

SEATTLE (Sept. 23) A new era of Seattle Pacific University women's basketball will begin with a four-game home stand at Brougham Pavilion.

The Falcons, under new head coach Julie van Beek, will make their debut Nov. 15 against Kirkland's Northwest University before hosting Biola and Minnesota State Moorhead in the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic, Nov. 18-19.

Following a Dec. 3 bout with Lewis-Clark State, the next seven games are on the road. Four of those contests are with perennial postseason contenders Cal Poly Pomona, Chico State, Cal State Bakersfield and Western Washington, the latter on New Year's Eve day in Bellingham.

Seattle Pacific is coming off its finest season, advancing to the NCAA Division II championship game and going 30-3. It will begin defense of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship Dec. 29 at Central Washington.

Four of last year's starters will return, including all-conference forward Carli (Smith) Grant, guards Mandy Wood and Jenny Poe and center Brittney Kroon.

The sole exhibition game on the schedule is Nov. 12 at Gonzaga.
