SEATTLE (Sept. 19) ­ Alyssa Given of Seattle Pacific University was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week after cracking 42 kills in a pair of road wins.

Given (So., Salinas, Ca. /Notre Dame) hit for an attacking percentage of .384 as 20th-ranked SPU beat Western Oregon and Humboldt State in four games apiece. Her 24 kills at Western Oregon was a career high. She also added 21 digs and a team-high five service aces for the week.

The Falcons (9-3) come home Thursday night to play Alaska Anchorage at 7:30.
