Monmouth, Or. (Sep. 15) Alyssa Given had a match-high 24 kills to lead Seattle Pacific to a 3-1 victory over Western Oregon Thursday night in Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball action.

The Falcons (2-0, 8-3), ranked No. 20 in NCAA II, remained perfect in conference play with the 30-20, 30-18, 28-30, 30-21 victory, their third straight. The Wolves fell to 1-2 in GNAC play and 3-8 overall.

Given (So., 5-10, Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) was the only player for either team to reach double figures in kills. She committed just two errors and finished with a .489 hitting percentage to lead an efficient SPU attack. The Falcons hit .305 for the match and committed just 16 errors. Given, whose totals in both kills and hitting percentage were career highs, also recorded four service aces and eight digs.

Three other SPU players finished with seven kills. Jenna Von Moos (Jr., 5-10, Stanwood, Wa.) had a match-high 43 assists along with four kills, nine digs and four blocks. Torii Mount (Fr., 5-2, Gresham, Or.) led all players with 19 digs.

Stacie Matz had nine kills and 16 digs, both team highs, in the loss. BriAnne Laverty and Mandy Veley each had eight kills.

Western Oregon committed 34 hitting errors and finished with a .092 percentage. The Falcons also had a 9-2 advantage in blocks.

The Falcons next play at Humboldt State in a GNAC match Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
