No. 5 SPU Men Dealt First Loss On Toros Goal in Final Minute
September 10, 2005

Complete Box Score

CARSON, Calif. (Sept. 10) A last-minute goal nullified a late comeback by 5th-ranked Seattle Pacific University as the Falcons were dealt their first loss, 2-1, by No. 12-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills at Toros Stadium Saturday.

The Toros' (4-0-0) Kei Kamara scored when his 8-yard shot deflected off an SPU defender and past goalkeeper Kellen Rosten (So., Colorado Springs, Co.) with 43 seconds remaining. It was Kamara's fourth goal in as many games.

Seattle Pacific (4-1-1) had knotted the score at 1-1 in the 88th minute on Jeremy Bonner's (Sr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake) first goal of the year. Colin Kosco (Fr., Edmonds, Wa./Meadowdale) served a ball into the top of the penalty area and Bonner volleyed it over CSDH goalie Kyle Polak at 87:30.

Cal State Dominguez Hills (4-0-0) had opened the scoring in the 49th minute. A poor clearance was shot home by Jason Koza, ending the Falcons' defensive streak of 373 scoreless minutes, which included three consecutive shutouts.

The Toros, who have lost only once to SPU in the teams' last seven meetings, out-shot the visitors 18-10. Rosten made six saves.

Seattle Pacific continues its five-game road trip Monday night at Cal State Bakersfield.
