SPU Returns to Volleyball Rankings After Four-Year Absence
September 6, 2005

SEATTLE (Sept. 6) ­ For the first time in four seasons the Seattle Pacific University volleyball team has a place in the NCAA Division II coaches poll.

Following a victory over previously No. 1-ranked Nebraska Kearney at home last week, the Falcons (5-3) are No. 23 in the CSTV/AVCA poll. They have not been nationally-ranked since the 2001 season.

Seattle Pacific's next match is against Chaminade (Hi.), the No. 18 team in the poll. Two of the three losses this season have been to ranked foes: No. 13 Ferris State (Mi.) and No. 20 Cal State L.A.

Truman State (Mo.) is No. 1, followed by Cal State San Bernardino and Nebraska Kearney. Defending Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion Central Washington is No. 9.
