SEATTLE (July 28) ­ Jessica Hinton, a standout sprinter for Lake Stevens High School, has signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and field for Seattle Pacific University next season.

Hinton came back from a knee injury last fall to qualify for the state 4A meet in the 200 dash and two relays in the spring. She had finished eighth in the state 100 finals and third in the 4 x 200 relay, and also qualified for the 200 as a junior.

Hinton joins a Seattle Pacific team which is coming off a 13th-place finish in NCAA Division II.
