SEATTLE (July 7) Former Seattle Pacific
University basketball player Eric Sandrin has joined the Los
Angeles Lakers entry in the Summer Pro League in Long Beach, Ca.
Sandrin, who was the Falcons' starting center
in 2001 and '02, will begin play Friday night. He joins two others
with ties to local colleges: Ronny Turiaf of Gonzaga and Will
Conroy of Washington. Also on the Lakers' squad is Andrew Bynum,
the No. 10 pick in the NBA draft.
A graduate of Shorecrest High School and
Bothell resident, Sandrin most recently was a member of the Harlem
Globetrotters. Previously, he played professionally in Luxembourg,
Brazil and, domestically, for the Bellevue (Wa.) franchise of the
American Basketball Association.
