July 7, 2005

SEATTLE (July 7) Former Seattle Pacific University basketball player Eric Sandrin has joined the Los Angeles Lakers entry in the Summer Pro League in Long Beach, Ca.

Sandrin, who was the Falcons' starting center in 2001 and '02, will begin play Friday night. He joins two others with ties to local colleges: Ronny Turiaf of Gonzaga and Will Conroy of Washington. Also on the Lakers' squad is Andrew Bynum, the No. 10 pick in the NBA draft.

A graduate of Shorecrest High School and Bothell resident, Sandrin most recently was a member of the Harlem Globetrotters. Previously, he played professionally in Luxembourg, Brazil and, domestically, for the Bellevue (Wa.) franchise of the American Basketball Association.
