SEATTLE (June 16) Seattle Pacific
University has received commitments from five incoming freshmen
men's soccer players, Coach Cliff McCrath has announced.
Among the group is a pair of local all-Wesco
selections, Colin Kosco of Lynnwood's Meadowdale and Ayo Abebefe
from Everett's Cascade, plus Jono Henness of Arizona, Ben Pliskin
of Oregon and Daniel Carpenter of California.
Kosco is a defender who earned all-state honors
as a junior at Meadowdale, which qualified for the state 3A
tournament this spring. Abebefe was a two-time all-Wesco
midfielder for the Bruins.
Carpenter was an all-SCCAL first team
midfielder for Harbor High School in Santa Cruz, Ca. Henness, a
defender, was an all-region pick for Casa Grande Union, located
southeast of Phoenix. Pliskin was an all-Valley League defender
for Crescent Valley in Corvallis and also played for Oregon
United.
Seattle Pacific was 12-3-2 and finished the
season ranked No. 25 nationally last season. The Falcons bring
back six starters for next season.
