May 31, 2005

SEATTLE (May 31) Amber Lundgren, a Level 10 state champion gymnast from Temecula, Calif., has signed national letter of intent to compete for Seattle Pacific University next season.

Lundgren, who competed for Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy (SCEGA), is the third recruit signed by Coach Laurel Tindall.

Lundgren won the beam and was second in the SoCal state championships all-around. Regionally, she tied for fourth on beam and placed seventh on floor and 10th in the all-around. Earlier, Lundgren won two floor titles at Level 9 regionals and also a Level 8 vault crown. She is a senior at Temecula Valley High School.

Tindall received previous commitments from local recruits Brianna Schwartz and Danna Nelson.

Seattle Pacific is one of the top small college programs in the nation with three national championships and 21 top-four national finishes in the last 22 years. The Falcons were third at the 2005 USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships. They lose three seniors.
