Gymnast McDaniel Voted Academic All-District

SEATTLE (May 26) -- Seattle Pacific University gymnast Corrie McDaniel has added yet another award, earning ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII honors for the second year in a row.

Earlier this month McDaniel was been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She was also an All-American in two events this past season.

McDaniel (Sr., Lawrence, Ks./Lawrence) is now a finalist for the Academic All-America for at-large sports.

A classic literature major, McDaniel has a cumulative grade point average of 3.74. She finished third on both balance beam and floor exercise at the USA Gymnastics Championships last month, and helped lead SPU to third place.
