SEATTLE (May 9) Rob Diederichs, a
6-foot-8 senior and league most valuable player from Shorewood
High School, has signed a basketball national letter of intent
with Seattle Pacific University.
Diederichs was the Wesco South MVP after
leading the division and Thunderbirds in scoring (23.8 points per
game). A three-year starter at guard and forward, he also averaged
9.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in his final season. He earned MVP
honors in the state all-star game after scoring 23 points.
Diederichs was a three-time first all-league
selection and made two all-area teams as a senior. Shorewood went
18-5 and reached the 4A district tournament this season. He also
led the Wesco South in scoring as a junior.
Seattle Pacific is coming off an appearance in
the NCAA Division II tournament and a 20-9 record under head coach
Jeff Hironaka. The Falcons, who announced the signing of Sedro
Woolley guard Adam Wardell last month, will return three starters
next season.
